First Baptist Church of New Carlisle is a group of people all joined together for one purpose—to show how great God is through Jesus Christ by the power of his Spirit. Each of our members have heard Jesus’s call to deny ourselves, pick up our cross, and follow him, and we’ve responded by turning away from living for ourselves, by trusting in him to forgive us and to make us right with God through his life, death, and resurrection, and by continuing to follow his instruction.
We gather together on Sundays at 9:15am for Bible study and 10:30 for worship service with the goal of encouraging each other to rely on God’s strength to love him with everything in us and to love others as we love ourselves, and all of this is for his glory. That love for God and others compels us to encourage others to follow Jesus whether they live in New Carlisle or elsewhere in the world. We voluntarily cooperate with other like-minded churches in the Greater Dayton Association of Baptists, the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio, and the Southern Baptist Convention so that more and more can know God through his Son.
What We Believe
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the one living and true God, who is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. God created humanity in his own image, which means that every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Man sinned and brought sin into the human race, inclining us toward sin and condemning us all. But God offered salvation freely to all who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. This salvation is based on God’s grace and is experienced through turning from sin toward God and through personal faith in Jesus Christ, committing entirely to him as Lord and Savior. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never fall away from the state of grace, but will persevere to the end. A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by his laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by his Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.
